New web site and blog

Come on over and visit the news section of our new website for the latest updates from The Utility Collective.  We will no longer be posting to this site.  Thanks!

Wood Whales like Coffee

Thanks to our friends at Marley Coffee the the studio here at TUC is fully caffeinated.  Our latest coffee shipment was a great one.

We like the Marley Coffee mission of supporting their local communities and upholding sustainable farming practices. Similar to our approach here at The Utility Collective we believe in small batch production and keeping it local when creating products.  With coffee or furniture local and fresh is best!

Tilt Launch Special

To celebrate the launch of the Tilt Box for a limited time we are offering the product at a special pricetiltwhite IMG_2181.  Enjoy!

Full Tilt

We are stoked to add the Tilt Box to our collection!  Designed and made in California, the Tilt Box is a low storage bench crafted in solid maple. Perfect for use in the entry, hallway or bedroom. The warm yet minimal form offers a place for your books and a perch to sit and tie your shoes.

The interior dividers tilt back into the box and allow your books to read as a continuous line.  This detail makes us smile.

Good Design doing Good

We are pleased to announce the release of two new Plyprints that will help support Vida Verde a San Francisco organization dedicated to outdoor learning for inner city kids.

Working with local artist David Polka, we produced Redwoods and Tides designed by David for Vida Verde.  The prints depict two key aspects of the camp that is located south of San Francisco on the San Mateo coast. A portion of each sale goes to the camp to aid in their efforts to bring kids outdoors.

The Prints are made using Columbia Forest Products formaldehyde free plywood panels produced in North Carolina. The 12″ x 18″ x 3/4″ thick panels offer a perfect mix of natural maple wood veneer and rich color. Spacers on the back have an integrated mounting hole for easy hanging and set the panel off the wall for a floating effect.

Thanks to everyone who helped on this project, now let’s help raise some money and send some kids to camp!

Memory Lane

These are sweet decks that remind us of our first boards we had in the 70’s. Made in California.
